Hi there! So glad you stopped by! Allow me to introduce myself...
My name is Dea. I'm 39 and married with no kids (well ... except for me, my husband, and the three 4-legged furbys I like to take pictures of). I like Corvettes, football, lacrosse (go 'Cuse!!!) NASCAR (member of Jr Nation, baby!), CSI: Anywhere, wine, sushi, Action & Sci-Fi movies, Highlander, sunflowers, Stampin' Up! (I'm a demonstrator), gardening dragons, and the Blue Man Group (Hi Boomer!). I also go by the name "Lily" or "Lillerz" in the online world, due NOT for my love of Lilies (which I do) but because I have a streak of gray hair at my left temple that makes me look like Lily Munster. Nice. I know.
I've been interested in photography for over 20 years now - it started back in High School. I didn't do too much with it, but something made me pick it back up again. Now I'm hooked. I'll take a picture of just about anything if it looks cool (to me). I'm going to ask Santa for a new camera for Christmas. I'm even being extra special good so he brings it. After that - all bets are off. Hehe
I also decided to let my tagger friends use my pictures to make signature tags, stationery, web sets... whatever makes them happy. I've been a part of the tagging community for over 5 years now, starting off as a "devil may care" tagger - using whatever graphics I could find. That was until my favorite "Free to Use" artists started to one by one become "Pay to Use" artists. I struggled with it for a while and almost decided to chuck it all, but eventually decided to become "Copyright Compliant" and began giving proper credit to the artists whose work I was using. Now, I really only use art that I purchase from CILM, Artistic Minds Inc, My PSP Tubes, MisTaken Art, and Up Your Art - just to name a few. It's been a long road, but one I've met a lot of wonderful people on. Their suggestions and advice led to this endeavor. And I want to thank them for it.
OK... enough mushy stuff. Back to the good stuff - me! Hehehe
I like bubble wrap, stupid greeting cards, Happy Meal toys, the Muppet Show, cotton candy, Who's Line is it Anyway, rollercoasters, dragons, badly dubbed Hong Kong action flicks, and pushing all the buttons on the toys at Wal-Mart. I'm a confused New Yorker trapped in the Midwest (SEND HELP!!). I like all things cheap, easy, & bad for you. I'm insanely stable yet I'm into organized sponteneity.
Do you use a special kind of camera?
Not really. Right now I'm just using an everyday Nikon COOLPIX L11 digital quick-shot type camera with a fairly decent zoom. I'm going to be asking Santa for a nicer one this Christmas, though!
Are those your flowers/animals?
The greater majority of the flowers are mine. All the animals are mine, too (including the squirrel, Walter) - or rather, I am theirs.
Do you shoot anything in particular?
Not really. I typically shoot flowers because of my garden. The cats, if they'll sit still, will tolerate me in their faces with the flash for only so long. The scenery is Kansas City and surrounding areas, unless I'm on vacation - which I haven't been on in years, so it's all KC. LOL I pretty much shoot whatever catches my eye.
